Frequently Asked Questions
What does Concord do?
Concord manages custom-tailored portfolios using individual
securities for both individual and institutional investors.

Who owns Concord?
Concord is privately owned by Madison Investment Advisors,
Inc. of Madison, Wisc., Concord’s senior management staff
and outside private investors.

What is Concord’s
investment philosophy?
We believe that clients are best served by
a carefully planned and controlled investment process, rather
than short-term performance contests. We remain focused on the
larger investment picture instead of the weekly twists and turns
of the turbulent investment markets. We believe this long term
focus is responsible for our competitive returns over the years.
Some managers strive to obtain the highest
returns, regardless of risk. Others avoid risk, and consequently
offer little gain. Our strategy is to help investors achieve their
goals safely over time.
Ours is an active, dynamic process. It requires in-depth analysis
of an array of market indicators and the willingness to make
tough decisions. Staying true to our convictions has served our
clients well over the years.

What is the profile of a typical Concord client?
Our
individual clients are business owners, professionals
and retirees.
Our institutional clients include corporations, retirement
plans, Taft-Hartley plans and other non-profit organizations.
We serve a relatively wide range of clients’ investment
needs and risk tolerances ranging from all-stock to all-bond
portfolios.. |

What makes Concord unique?
|
•
We manage our portfolios based upon the goals and guidelines
established by each client. All portfolios are custom-tailored
taking into account the investor's risk tolerance, income
needs and timelines.
• Our investment process and size allows for greater
agility in getting in and out of investment positions.
In today’s market environment the windows of opportunity
open and close quickly. Our smaller size allows greater
flexibility.
• We have complete access to Madison’s
excellent staff of investment analysts to help us manage
our portfolios.
• We work with larger but
fewer investors allowing us to have the time to give
outstanding personal service.
• We do not underwrite securities,
maintain an inventory or sell any products for commissions.
We are
a fee-only asset manager. As a result, we have none of
the conflicts of interest that many other managers have
because of their broker-dealer affiliations.
•
We believe that investment management is but one part
of the wealth management process and therefore welcome
the opportunity to work closely with our clients’
other trusted advisers.
